Please remember the people of Haiti in your prayers. In the morning of Saturday, August 14th at around 8:30 AM, a 7.0 earthquake struck the island.

Charlie DeTellis is in Haiti and reports no damage at our mission which is 55 miles east of the epicenter. The earthquake hit five miles from the town of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes in the western part of the country. This week our churches hosted fast and prayer meetings and we delivered food to feed families by boat. Watch the video from Haiti of the boat delivery.

I’m asking specifically for prayer on behalf of our pastors and churches. During times of crisis, the local church is the greatest force for good. We are grateful for the foundation of our 30 churches and local leadership.

What can we do now? We pray first. Second, we are already physically present in Haiti, thankfully. We will care for and serve the children and families of New Missions faithfully. You are invited to make a donation to help feed families.

During times like these, we are thankful for our mission to be in the middle of need. I thank you for praying.

Sincerely,
Tim DeTellis
